A new Maternity clinic opened with a soft launch in Smithers on June 01, 2026.
The clinic will enable healthcare providers to work collaborative in one space – ensuring consistent, high-quality care for patients. This initiative is crucial for sustaining high-quality maternity services and ensuring that families receive the care they need. The team consists of seven Physicians, one Midwife and one Perinatal Nurse.
The clinic will serve a wide range of communities, including Burns Lake, Houston and Witset. The clinic was still unnamed at the time of the opening.
