What is the Pacific Northwest Primary Care Network (PCN)?
The Pacific Northwest is part of the province-wide rollout of team-based Primary Care Networks (PCNs), supported by the B.C. Ministry of Health. Each PCN is organized around a geographic region and brings together a dedicated clinical team of allied health professionals to work alongside Family Physicians (FPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs).
Residents across the Pacific Northwest now have improved access to MSP-funded care from a wide range of PCN clinicians as part of their care team. In many cases, these services are available by referral or directly within FP/NP clinics in a co-located setting, helping reduce wait times and streamline care.
The Pacific Northwest Primary Care Network is made up of five regions, ensuring providers can connect patients with the right mix of care professionals in a coordinated way. This approach ensures that patients, families, and providers all work together toward shared health and wellness goals.
